Powder Coating on My Classic Car from Eastwood
This innovative system will allow you to achieve the benefits of powder coating small parts instead of coating them with paint. All you need is a compressed air source (5-10 PSI from a portable tank with a regulator or a compressor), and an electric oven or toaster oven. For more information go to www.eastwood.com

Eastwood by far makes the best quality stuff ive ever used!
do you have to put a clear coat on it
@lugia58 You do not have to put a clear coat on the powder. But some of colors do look much better with a clear coat applied. It also adds another level of protection. Hope that helps!
so what happens to the powder particles that stick to the grate (piece that the work sits on)
@phoenixwinch They are baked onto the rack. Most people just have a dedicated rack for spraying and baking parts on. Hope that helps!
Great but where can i buy the kit I live in United kingdom desperate to get started
!!!!HELP!!!!! Please
Who thought this was going to be Clint Eastwood?
Can this kit work on all kinds of metals? like alluminum?
@idpFATTYs Yes this will work on aluminum parts just fine. Hope that helps!
@EastwoodCo
Regarding an electric oven, what size works best for most home users? I’ll be looking at used home kitchen ovens.
thats awesome can u burn images on stuff somehow
@idpFATTYs But you would have to etch it first cos powder wouldnt stick! Im a powder coater myself
@blinkboy1820 When you say etch you mean like take a drimmel and scrape it up a bit?
@idpFATTYs No its like a wet paint you spray because the alluminum doesnt have a positve charge you need to put like a wet primer on first.
what is the best way to powdercoat something yourself that is larger than an oven (e.g. fender, body parts, etc…) this sounds like something worth trying out but getting up to 400 degrees is a bit difficult when your oven isnt the size of a small box truck.
@Lionheartwolf135 Eastwood sells Powder Curing Lamps for parts that are too large to fit into an oven! Just visit our website – eastwood.com
can i do this on my car
@butkis92Yes. Small parts can be cured in a conventional electric oven. Larger parts can be cured using our Powder-Curing Heat Lamps. Visit our website – eastwood.com – for more information.
$1.09 for gas hook me up
will it work on fiberglass, glass or plastics?
I am a blade smith, and i’m currently making a knife and the customer wants me to powder coat it green. would that be possible?
@tingletoess Yes you can powder coat a knife, You’ll want to do it after heat treat and take into account that you’ll be heating it up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and how that may affect your heat treat.
@mper900; not normally, some low temp powder can be found but it’s expensive and doesn’t work with all plastics.
@mper900 it’ll work on anything, providing:
the part is conductive to ground
the part can be heated to atleast 400odd degrees or whatever.
